About Malley - Degon Families and Extended Families
PLEASE NOTE: Okay, here'e the info for the family reunion ;)
more edit when I get back ;( sorry ;)

***POLITICAL NOTE: To all of us who bitch about the way our country, state,
county, town and etc. are being run, I have to say, with my research through
the Northern New York newspapers of yesteryear, we should truly be ashamed of
ourselves, our ancestors were BIG in Politics (By the way, they were hard core
Democrats!! Are we surprised? ;-) This was on Gram (Bourcier) Malley's side of
the family. So Grandpa may have bitched politically, but Gram's family helped
to shape their communities!!!!!

**I HAVE NEW INFO ON THE MALLEY/O'MALLEY NAME - What I have recently found is
that: Great Grandpa Charles Howard Malley, is listed in his Church Parish
records for his marriage as Charles Malle - but signed his name as Malley and
later for the 1891 Prince Edward Island Census is listed as Charles Malley,
and even on the Baptismal Records for his kids in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic
Church Alberton, Prince Edward Island, however, the children's Baptismal
Records show the CHILDREN with the last name O'Malley and the father's name
Malley. And Charles also had a second wife - Fanny Richard - and a daughter
with her named Laura Mary O'Malley. Taken from Parish records.

This web site is being created to help our family find and put faces on their
roots. As our family grows, we have also grown apart and this web page is to
help at least throw a life line to the future generations from the past. We
can best find out where we're going if we know where we came from. I hope
everyone enjoys the pages. Please note that Grandpa Malley's family came
from Prince Edwards Island, Canada and were of Irish, Welsh, and French
descent. Grandma Malley's family (The Bourcier's) came from Chasm Falls,NY
(French) and the Strack's (her mother's side of the family) came from Alsace
Lorraine, France (Actually Peter Strack came from Soufflenheim,France and was
a carpenter. Came to America between 1828-1837) Gram was of French and German
descent. I have recently contacted Scott LaVine (son of Eileen Conners) and
he has supplied a huge amount of information for Conners and Stracks for us.
Thank You Scott. Grandpa Degon's Family and Grandma Degon's Family were from
Canada and were French speaking, English was not spoken in their home until
Uncle Floyd and Mom learned it in school. Sue Stevens, a cousin on the Degon
side of the family has recently sent me MUCH information on the Degons. Thanks
Sue. For the DeWitt's - This traces back to Peter DeWitt (one of seven
